25.1 Derivational Suffixes

TIAL doesn't generally use suffixes for derivation, but one propsed exception is -able, which is applied to verbs and specifies that the subject is capable of being a paitent of the verb. It's the equivalent of pota plus -aze

stolo fraktable
"The chair is breakable."
stolo pota fraktaze
"The chair can be broken."

ci eso hidro bevable?
"Is that water drinkable?"
ci yo pota beva eso hidro?
"Can one drink that water?"

There are also the derivational suffixes -jen·o "kind, type, class" and -mod·o "manner, means, method". These are chiefly added to determiners.

komode   "in what manner"

25.2 Compounds and Noun Incorporation

An incorporated noun is appended to the verb, with the part-of-speech suffix for the verb at the end. An -a- is inserted between the verb and the noun. An incorporating verb can be used as a verb or a noun.

kaptapisce   "catch fish"

vendafloro   "someone selling flowers"

A derivational noun modifier is appended to the noun, with the part-of-speech suffix for the noun at the end. An -o- is inserted between the noun and the modifier.

avyonegro   "blackbird"

25.3 More Cardinal Numbers

The cardinal numbers greater than 10 are constructed according to the formula

(Factor-o)  Base(-i  Addend)-o

where the value is (Factor × Base) + Addend. Addend is from 1 to Base - 1 (0 if none) and Factor is from 2 to Base - 1 (1 if none).

dekiduo   12
tetrokatipento   405
oktodekitriokilo   83,000

The following lists the powers of ten that are currently defined. (((possibly also there's also a word for 20, vinto?)))

Bases > 10
100 kato
10\3 kilo
10\6 mego
10\9 gigo
10\12 tero

25.4 Fractional Numbers

In general, fractional numbers are constructed according to the formula

Numerator do Denominator

tetro do pento   4/5

There's also a word for 1/2, semo.

Decimal fractions can be constructed with the following fractional bases:

Bases < 1
1/10 deco
1/100 cento
10\-3 millo
10\-6 mikro
10\-9 nano
10\-12 piko

triodeco   0.3
oktodekiheksocento   86%

Explanation is still needed.

Sometimes the base is separated from the number and prefixed to the unit of measurement.

pento kilometro   5 kilometers
